The Reserve
I got invited to The Reserve on L St’s opening party this Friday. So my girlfriend and I decided to check it out. We did not get to eat at the Reserve but tried the appetizers they were passing around. The Reserve is located on 14th and L directly behind all the K st area clubs. The place is decorated very well it is a mix of Proof and The Park. It is comfortable, modern, and classy all at the same time. It uses a mixture of metal, wood, and classy decorations throughout the place. The wine is one of the main focuses of The Reserve and this place does a good job of that. It really does provide a large selection of wine.
This place is laid out very well. When you approach it the place is beautiful it is quite beautiful on the outside with a large door and some beautiful masonry on the outside and inside. The place is cozy not to big but not to small a perfect lounge. When you walk into the first floor their is some lounge seating on the left with a stairwell on the right. Behind the stairs is a bar and across from it behind the lounge is an open kitchen that reminds me of The Park Restaurant/Club on 14th.
The kitchen is beautiful and you get a chance to watch the chefs do their magic in the kitchen. The second floor is very nice and more of a lounge type setting with a bar in the back. The bar has a few bartenders that are nice and on point with the drinks. I was also told by someone that works their that they will be opening the third floor which will be similar to the second. They were giving out appetizers that were good. They had some fried cheese sticks, shrimp, and prosciutto. I stayed for about 2 hours and really enjoyed The Reserve. They will be opening fully soon and I cant wait to try the food. I think the staff did a great job and I commend them for the opening party!

Great site. Keep doing.,
I want to say – thank you for this!,
Restaurateur Moe Hamdan, the owner of Reserve, used his new upscale DC eatery as his own personal piggy bank while leaving workers empty-handed, say former employees of The Reserve. According to one former manager who requested anonymity, Hamdan repeatedly “used workers wages for his own private expenses” while short-changing or not paying employees. Workers came to DC Jobs for Justice for help after not being paid for six months by Hamdan, who they say owes them over $10,000. “I worked really hard as a bar boy at this restaurant,” says former Reserve employee Luis Ducas, “and the owner refuses to pay me my back wages.” D.C. Jobs for Justice’s Arturo Griffiths says Hamdan “owes more than just these workers” with another $15,000 in claims, for a total of at least $25,000 in unpaid wages. Hamdan “has no intentions of paying his workers or even meeting with them” says the former manager, “he is unethical, immoral, and has no remorse for what he has done.”
