So Spot Lounge is so new I did not even know it existed. I actually went there because a guy that lives in my building is the owner. Spot is located where Andalu used to be which I only went to once or twice. All I remember about Andalu was that it felt similar to a dungeon. Well Spot lounge changed this.
This is a tough spot for this type of club with so much competition from Fly Lounge , Midtown, and Current all in its close proximity. It seems to be doing very well. It has a lot less door politics than the other clubs in the area and the bouncer was very friendly. At Spot the crowd was pretty nice, they were dressed well, and the music was good.
The decor of Spot was pretty on point. Spot Lounge DC made me forget about the dungeon that used to be Andalu and focus on the bright blueness of Spot. I really like the blue lights (my favorite color) I think it makes people look better too. I liked music when I first entered because it was house and trance then it slowly went more top 40 which I really don’t like but I know everyone else does.
I think Spot Lounge has a great chance in this area of DC as it provides some differences but a similar vibe. Its new lively and has a different crowd. I also noticed I did not see anyone I recognized here. This is unusual for me as I go out a lot. The drinks were reasonably priced for the area at about 9 dollars. The bartenders were nice looking and quick to serve. I also felt like the club made me want to have fun. Not something I can really describe I just felt like I meshed with the people there. I welcome Spot Lounge to DC and the golden triangle and look forward to seeing it flourish.
I will definitely be checking out Spot Lounge DC again probably multiple times. I have not been able to find a website for them but if you do feel free to add it in the comments. Found One below. With Images!

Here is DCcityBlog’s thoughts on Spot.
I’m not entirely sure what an ultra-lounge is but I suppose Spot would fall into this category. I tend to stay away from the cluster of clubs on 18th Street but the buzz surrounding Spot has been good so far so I figured it was worth a look see. Built on the ashes of Andalu in the cluster of clubs on 18th Street, Spot immediately distinguishes itself from its neighbors – how much of that it sustainable only time will tell but in the meantime they have put together a nice little lounge.
Cost – $$
Service – A
Unlike some of the other ultra-lounges in DC, the guys working the front door are extremely friendly. Immediate bonus points. Secondly, Carol is quite possibly the coolest bartender in DC (and not hard on the eyes). More bonus points. They also enlisted the help of a great promoter in Jamie Hess.Decor – B
I honestly couldn’t tell you the difference between the decor in Spot and any of the other lounges that have popped up in the past 12-months (with the exception of Josephine, which really does have a unique look).Feel – A
Drawing a crowd upon launch seems to be the easy part and Spot still has a very fresh vibrance. What’s more, I think the club’s management has been shrewd in their approach to staffing and promoting the club. I’m not completely sold on the music (they could do with a top-shelf local DJ) but all the other pieces seem to be in place for Spot to have a healthy, sustainable life.

When I went it smelled like urine!
Also it took 20 minutes to get in and when I got in realized it was an artificial line!
Only 50 people in the place!
Stayed long enough to realize I wanted to be somewhere else!
Won’t go back!
THIS PLACE WAS DISGUSTING. I am NEVER going there again. The crowd was wack and rowdy. The girl-guy ratio was 4-1, with not a decent guy in sight. Pictures posted on the internet about this place are DECEIVING. The interior was cheap and dingy with pipes exposed and water dripping from the air vents. The bathrooms were tiny and smelled like complete ass.
The bartenders were extremely rude and wouldn’t let my friend close her tab early in the night. They were very snippy about it and told her that they were “too busy” to do that. Bullshit.
Not to mention how I was groped by a guy in the VIP section who then tried to get into a fight with MY GIRLFRIENDS… And what did the bouncers do? Hustle US out of the VIP. NO RESPECT FOR WOMEN WHATSOEVER IN THAT ESTABLISHMENT. Really shabby treatment of customers and I really recommend trying one of the other places on the Conn. Ave that doesn’t look as cheap, offers better clientele, and respects their customers.
