Saki Lounge DC
Saki oh the memories. I have been going to Saki since 2004 and I love this place so much I even took my dad there. There really is something about Saki DC that makes it feel like home to me. I remember I went there like 34 Wednesdays in a row in 2005. Saki was my job on Wednesday nights!
Saki Lounge offers many great things. It has great food and has always had great service. So I will start by taking about Saki’s food I have eaten there many times and always enjoy the food. I have had many things to eat at this place but my favorite by far is the lasagna roll. It is crispy tempura shrimp topped with this warm and spicy crab salad that is delicious. Saki also has a roll call the Jalapeno roll which is also pretty good as well. I have also had some pretty good dessert here! The last time I ate at Saki I also had some very good custard.
Saki’s design is Miami/New York. It has a Miami style in a New York type location. The first level is like a lounge and the bottom is like a club. The top boasts a nice bar with tv’s and a sushi bar. The bottom floor has some of the simplest yet best designing in DC. The whole inside of the bottom floor is white. The lighting all changes color throughout the night. So the room may be pink one minute and blue the next. This is a pretty ingenious idea because they did not have to spend to much on the lighting because the walls reflect it. The sound is loud! Which is good later on but I wish it was a little lower early on in the night. The bartenders are all quick and very eager to serve. So on to the infamous parties at Saki. If you know DC you have probably heard of them.
The crowd at Saki is normally great. I have only been disappointed once. There is always a mixed crowd that is usually dressed fashionable. Saki’s drinks are fairly cheap at around 4 dollars for a beer and 7 for a mixed drink. The bottles are also fairly cheap for a DC club. I really miss partying here and I think I will go back soon.
