I was recently raving about how awesome Minh’s was and my friend recommended Saigon Saigon. Saigon Saigon is located in the middle of Pentagon Row which is great as it is the only Vietnamese restaurant in the area. When walking into Saigon Saigon you get an instant modern Asian feel.
The service was pretty prompt here, we got our menus and drinks within minutes and our server was quite polite. I received the menu and I immediately knew what I wanted to get for my entrée, but it took a little longer for me to figure out my appetizers. The menu is fairly simple, but provides a solid mix of Vietnamese Cuisine. I decided on two appetizers the first was crispy tofu and the second was grilled beef and papaya salad. The crispy tofu was crunchy and flavorful, but not the best I have had. The second was even better I destroyed the grilled beef and papaya salad in minutes. The grilled beef was thin an chewy and went great with the slightly spicy papaya salad. For my entree I got the chicken lettuce wraps, which was the right choice. When they brought it out the chicken and sauce came on one plate and the fixings on the other. The chicken was moist and juicy. The fixings included noodles, carrots, lettuce, bean sprouts, and mint. All of this made for a wonderful meal. The fixings brought a fresh and green taste to the juicy grilled chicken. When you added the sauce it was a masterpiece, I really enjoyed this meal.
Overall Saigon Saigon is good Vietnamese restaurant in the right location. I can’t believe I never visited this place when I lived in Crystal City, but now I know what I missed.
