Got the quarter chicken dark (medium spicy) with seasoned rice and mashed potatoes. Their chicken is pretty good, it was tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were buttery and the rice got no complaints from me. I sampled a friend’s pea mash side dish (she ordered thinking it would be like chick peas, it’s not; definitely crushed green peas mixed with some mint/cilantro), I wouldn’t recommend it unless you like the ingredients I’ve listed.
The location is awesome, it’s in the heart of Chinatown by the Verizon Center, Chinatown metro and tons of other restaurants and bars. The pricing was okay, you pay a premium for the location and decor of the restaurant. One thing I don’t get is that you wait in line to order your food, then they run it to your table when it’s ready. I think the restaurant would operate much better with servers.
While it was good, for about $10 it was a bit pricey for what I got. I’d recommend checking out other Peruvian chicken places in the area if location is not an issue.
