Let me start this off by saying Minh’s is by far one of the best Vietnamese restaurants I have been to in the Washington D.C. area. This place has a huge menu and I mean huge with over 100 items it can take you about 15 minutes to figure out what you want to eat. The atmosphere at Minh’s is pretty nice it looks pretty authentic and has a very cozy feel. The decor is simple and tasteful. Minh’s has been around for quite a while and has always been successful.
On to the food! Minh’s is very reasonable priced especially for lunch. I wish I worked closer to it so I could take advantage of their lunch specials more often. They are usually around 6 to 7 dollars which is amazing for the quality and amount of food you get. I have been to Minh’s multiple times and have never really been let down.
So I decided to go back last night with my girlfriend and get some pics of the food for my review. We had the Combination Rice Rolls for our appetizer which are rice paper wrapped w/ shrimp, pork, lettuce & vermicelli. I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of them until we already ate a whole one. The rolls were fantastic full of flavor and the sauce was light and sweet with a little tang which I loved. For my entree I had the Chicken Lemon Grass which had chicken sauteed w/ lemon grass & crush red pepper served in clay pot. It was great as well although it may have to much lemon grass for some people but I dug it. It was semi spicy too. My girlfriend got the Minh’s Combination 3 which had five spice chicken, fried rice, shrimps tempura. It was my favorite by far. Minh’s has some of the best grilled chicken I have ever had. Its charcoaled and crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. I don’t know how they do it! Their fried rice is amazing as well it tastes much fresher than most fried rice I have had. And the shrimp tempura was good as well especially when dipped with the sauce on the side. The sauce was lightly sweet and I really enjoyed it. The only bad thing I have to say about Minh’s is that their Pho is not the best but everything else is on point.
Minh’s is a great for those who love Vietnamese food and for those who have never really had it. The menu is easy to read and has so many options any one would be satisfied. Well I hope I have convinced some people try Minh’s. If you work around Minh’s you must check out their lunch specials its a great deal!
