I was out drinking in Georgetown a few weeks ago and decided to stop by La Madeline. I had never been there before, but was looking around for food and I looked up to see La Madeline. We walked in and it immediately reminded me of an old French house which is probably what they are looking for.
It was almost eleven by the time we got to La Madeleine so there was no that much stuff available. We ended up getting a quiche, chicken and cheese puff, and two small desserts. The keish was OK however it was not fantastic and was actually a little dry. The flavor was good however not great. The chicken and cheese pastry ended up being pretty darn good. It was moist and full of flavor. The desserts included a lemon meringue torte. The torte was really good it has a lot flavor and tasted great. The chocolate pie was pretty good as well. It was quite moist, and had a nice dark chocolate flavor. The food was ok, but not as good as similar types of cafes. It was late and they were about to close, so I will probably do another review.
Overall this place reminds me a little of the Corner Bakery. It was a cool place and the food was decent, but I would rather go to Corner Bakery.
