From the outside Il Radicchio does not look that promising, but the location is great. It was a beautiful day so we decided to sit outside. We sat down and got our drinks pretty quickly. They came by with the bread and it looked completely dismal. It looked and tasted like wonder bread. Which did not really have me excited about the rest of the meal. For our appetizer we ended up getting a nice carpacio salad which was really good. It was basically spinach, lemon juice, oil, vinegar, pepper, and Parmesan regiano cheese. It had a light sour taste that was really refreshing with the Parmesan regiano cheese as an after taste. For my entree I decide to get the Il Radicchio spaghetti which you can see at the top of this post. It was fantastic the sauce had sausage, barley, and thyme in it. It really tasted great with the al dente spaghetti noodles. My girlfriend ended up getting a fontina & ricotta cheese pizza with garlic & spinach. It was ok the crust was crunchy and flavorful, but the spinach was a little overpowering for me. My Il Radicchio Spaghetti was fantastic, but the pizza was just OK.
Overall I think Il Radicchio was OK, but I they have a lot of room improvement. The bread was abysmal and it really surprised me that an Italian restaurant could serve something like that. I will go back for spaghetti but I hope they make some different bread.
