Guajillo in Rosslyn a place to check out if your in the mood for Mexican. It located right next Ray’s Hell Burger.
Guajillo is in a prime location close to Courthouse and Rosslyn. Guajillo brings something pretty original to the area as there are not to many authentic Mexican places near this area. They could probably use a little more advertising as I had not heard of it until I actually searched for a Mexican place in the area. So Guajillo is by no means a big place. It does however provide a comfy and Mexican like environment. The place is decorated well and the bar is at the perfect height for eating. Not to mention that the bar has a wide selection of tequila. When I say wide I mean wide there was over 20 or 30 different types of tequila that they can turn into great margaritas.
Guajillo offers a lot of different types of Mexican food that it was pretty hard to choose from. I decided to get the chicken Mole called the “Mole Pablano” it is a chocolate sauce that goes over op of the chicken. It was pretty good the chocolate taste is light and adds an interesting flavor to the chicken. It was a huge serving that I barely finished. My date had the Lamb tacos which were phenomenal. Guajillo calls them “Tacos de Borrego” it is infused with garlic and peppers. This has kept me coming back for a while as these tacos are great.
For dessert we had the Sopapillas which is a baked pastry served with Ice cream, honey, and cinnamon. They were one of the better desserts in my eating career. The pastry was chewy and sweet with the honey and cinnamon being mixed perfectly. If you ever are in the mood for dessert go check out this place just for the Sopapillas.
I recommend this place to anyone who is in the mood for better than average Mexican food. It is moderately expensive but it is worth it. So next time your around the Rosslyn area and want some Mexican food check this place out.
