Dean and Deluca

800px-Georgetown_Market,_DCDean and Deluca is the premier grocery store/cafe in Washington D.C.. This grocery store has high quality food and high prices which fits perfectly into Georgetown. Dean and Deluca has everything you cant find at your local Safeway. They have exotic fruits and vegetables along with the best and I mean best cuts of meat. They have miniature meals which you can buy in a container which are great but cost ten dollars or more. They also have a great cafe in the back that offers some really interesting drinks and small bites.

The best thing about Dean & Deluca is their selection of high quality foods. Their cheese selection is amazing! Last time I went they had over 40 different cheeses to choose from. D&D also gives you the option to make your own cheese plate which works great for a party platter. pic_Store8The meat and fish selection is just as good. They have the best cuts of meat and even have waygu (marbleized beef) which is no cheap delicacy. D&D has some of the best cuts of lamb and I mean best. You can really find almost anything you want there and if you can’t they will order it for you. They have an amazing selection of seafood, herbs, spices, and wine as well. Dean and Deluca is really the best place to go in the area for high quality food.

Dean and Deluca offers other services as well. They offer personal shopping which means they will buy what you request and deliver it to you. They have a catering service as well that does some magical things that not many other commercialized services can or will do. So if you can’t find what you need at Safeway, Whole Foods, Harris Teeter, Grand Mart, and you have the money you need to go to Dean and Deluca. You will be amazed by the food you will find here.

Ugh, I liked! So clear and positively.

I like Dean and Deluca’s, wherever it is. One thing about the Georgetown presence, as opposed to the original NYC location, is that less effort is placed on small, affordable bites and “coffee house esque” snacking. It’s all good, but how do you get out with your shirt on? In NYC, it’s like the scraps are put out for the peasants at bargain rates. Being a paeasant, I appreciate the thought.
