Current Lounge DC

Current Lounge is a new club with the same owners as “Fly Lounge DC”. It is in place of Dragonfly a place I used to love.   It has basically the same floor plan with a more modern feel. Dragonfly will be missed but it seems like Current will fit in the Golden triangle crowd much better.

Current is  a pretty chill place to go for happy hour. I enjoyed and look forward to going there again. It reminds me of Vegas because it is all white. Current has a boat/water theme which is cool.  Its a new concept catering to the upper middle to high class people in DC. I think to many clubs are doing this but it seems to be working for them. They serve food as well. Current Lounge  serves sushi as well as some other Asian food. The food is decent and very reasonable in price.

It seems Current has now added a back patio which increases my love of this place. They display graphics on the wall and the music is great. I commend the owners on this decision as it brings a whole new feel to the club.

I look forward to going back to Current.  They have really good Friday and Saturday night parties.

“There used to be a club located in Dupont called Dragonfly that Dean and I used to hit up with some regularity. It was great as a starter, intermediary or finishing venue for an evening in DC. The one consistency was that there was always a pretty good crowd, good music yet it was never difficult to get a drink. Then, somehow it inexplicably shut down and has been dormant for the past year or so. Current has been built on the ashes of Dragonfly and subsequently, has a lot to live up to.”
