If I had to pick a place to get dim sum in Virginia, I’m going to China Garden. I’ve been coming here for years, decades actually. They’ve had a new chef these last few years, I don’t think he’s as good as his predecessor, but they dim sum is still pretty good. They’ve got all your staples that you’d expect from dim sum, pork ribs, siu mei, shrimp balls, crab balls, etc. Service is pretty good considering how slammed it is on weekends — I think they do a good job of making sure you’ve got everything necessary to enjoy your meal. But it is a Chinese restaurant, so don’t expect any over the top customer service. There is limited street parking in the nearby area, and they have underground parking which you can get validated parking. I would also recommend going early or late to avoid the lunch rush, or know someone who works there to get seated ahead of the line.
