Capital Grille Tyson’s Corner

Yesterday was my birthday and I was looking for a nice place to eat that was close to my office.  I talked to some people at work and they said the Capital Grille was good so I decided to check it out.   We got to the restaurant and there was a complimentary valet parking which gave me the impression that it was going to be a good dinner.

We did not have reservations so when we got in we had to wait about 5 minutes.  Once we were seated I started to realize how nice this restaurant was almost everyone was wearing some sort of suit or dress.  Once we sat down our waiter came by and introduced himself and told of the specials.  Capital Grille had a classic feel which is kind of cool and different from the places I have been going recently.   They also had large symbols on the wall such as the pyramid with the all seeing eye on top.  It was exactly like the one on the back of the dollar bill.

After we ordered our drinks the waiter brought us a pretty impressive bread basket with multiple types of bread.  The bread was excellent especially the bread with the sesame seeds.  The menu was averaged sized and pretty expensive the sides were around 10 dollars and the entree’s were 30 -50.   I had a the capital grille chopped salad which was great it had arugala, corn, and other ingredients which made a nice salad.  The salad dressing was light and flavorful and I really enjoyed  it.  For my main course  ordered the seared citrus glazed salmon and the parmesean truffle fries.   The salmon was huge although I could not really taste the citrus in the salmon.  The fries however were great they had lots of flavor they tasted really awesome with all of the parmesan cheese.  My father had the Double Cut Lamb Rib Chops which was very tender and quite flavorful.  My mother had the dry aged sirloin steak which was let me say amazing!  It had so much flavor and was ridiculously tender.  She got her steak well which normally I don’t like, but something about the steak was so ridiculous.  Below you can see pictures of all the food we had at our table.

Overall this place is really pretty awesome.  Even though I try not to eat red meat to much I would definitely recommend it here.  The place is more set for fine dining and dress fairly nice.   So if you are looking for a steak near Tyson’s you need to check this place out.
