To say that I’m a creature of habit would be an understatement, especially on the weekends when I go to Busboys & Poets on 5th and K St. NW (conveniently located in my building) and order the Spinach and Wheatberry Salad with Grilled Salmon. This is arguably the best salad in the city – yes, I would put it up there with comparable fare from a place like Palena. This is an awesome salad. It’s piled high, has wonderful ginger dressing, the salmon is always cooked to perfection, and there are enough greens to make even the most ardent tree hugger happy. Top it off with the fact that BB&P keeps the fruit accompanymnent in line with seasons – lately it’s been blueberrys, strawberrys, and slices of mango – you’re in for something new every few months. Oh…and did I mention the bar is fantastic? If you’re like me and enjoy eating great food at the most chaotic place outside the kitchen, then this salad and BB&P’s K St. location are for you.
