I had heard about Barcode a few months ago and recently decided to check out their website. I was quite impressed. Recently my friend decided to have a party there for his birthday and I was excited about checking it out. Barcode is right around the corner from Panache just south of Dupont Circle.  This is about 2 blocks away from all the hotness going down at Current , Fly, Midtown,  Spot, and more. It’s just close enough to be a drunken stumble away.

As for the club itself it is one of the newer ones in the city opening about 5 months ago. Walking into this place you can tell it’s brand spanking new.  The sleek exterior ropes and blue lights make for a nice entrance to this place,  you feel like you are walking into a high class club and you are.  You walk in and to the left is a large bar with large 42inch TV’s lined up behind it.  Straight ahead is the tables until about 10PM, a little later they remove the tables and it becomes the dance floor.  On the right is a large area where they have tables and large granite or marble wall.  The bathroom is located in the back and is super nice, the hallway leading to it is lined with cedar.

The two most important things about clubs in my opinion is the crowd and the music, at Barcode they were both on point.  The place was just in general quite fun,  we ended up getting a table and danced the night away.  There was no trouble and everyone in the place seemed to enjoy themselves.  The music was pretty good,  it was not the best I have heard, but it was well good. The drinks prices were high like any upscale club in the city, but well you get what you pay for.

Overall I think Barcode is a pretty cool place that is worth checking out.  If you are looking for a good time and feel like spending some money, Barcode should be near the top of your list.
