Baja Fresh

I was out drinking and decided to grab some Baja Fresh before I went home. I was pretty hungry, but surprisingly it did not sway my taste buds. I wanted to be able to compare Baja Fresh to Chipotle, but I quickly realized that it was more like Taco Bell.

I ended up getting the Diablo Shrimp Burrito which included ten lime-garlic marinated grilled shrimp, Black beans, Baja rice, Jack cheese, and a smoky, super spicy chipotle sauce all rolled up in a warm, soft flour tortilla. It was not so great, the burrito had very little flavor until I added some sauces. I didn’t try to count the ten shrimp that are supposed to be in the burrito, but it doesn’t seem like they did either. I also got the tostado salad with chicken it includes crispy flour tortilla shell filled with Romaine lettuce, tomato, freshly simmered black or pinto beans, handmade guacamole, cheese, Pico de Gallo and sour cream. Mine didn’t come in a shell and it wasn’t really that great either the cheese overpowered the whole salad.

Overall Baja Fresh did not impress me. It is a Taco Bell like restaurant that is a more expensive. One thing I did like about Baja Fresh was the fixings and sauce bar. I think it is a good idea, but it doesn’t make bad food good.
