Ultimate Chicken Bistro secretively opened its doors recently and I finally had a chance to indulge. After owner Sang Moon mentioned their Korean style fried chicken is worth checking out, I didn’t even bother with the menu. Went straight for a half order of wings marinated in soy-garlic with a side of house hot sauce. I don’t know if this is a soft opening special or not, but each entree came with a side. While I could’ve gone for some greens, mac and cheese seemed to be a better pairing.
Since my last visit, the decor hasn’t changed much. But this time with local patrons, wait staff and four chefs (each with their own speciality) occupying the space, dining options at Loehmann’s Plaza just got slightly better. The open kitchen provides quite the spectacle as you get to gaze at what each chef is conjuring up.
One thing I was really impressed by was the swift service. Usually at Bon Chon, you’re better off calling half an hour to forty-five minutes in advance. It was an eye opener to see how the crew whipped out the wings in a more expedited time frame. With that stated, you’re all probably wondering about the execution. I can gladly say I no longer have to put up with the poor service at Bon Chon Chicken. Ultimate Chicken Bistro’s version of Korean fried chicken is equally delicious if not better.
Ultimate Chicken Bistro’s grand opening is today and I’m most certain there will be specials for all that attend to partake in.

I went to Ultimate Chicken Bistro today and I was very disappointed. I got the chicken and broccoli lunch special for take out after getting done with a doctor’s appointment next door. I had not eaten lunch so I was starving. It smelled so good that when the cashier brought my bag to the table, I told her that I had to take a bite! One of the waiters or chefs IMMEDIATELY came to my table and told me that I could not eat my meal there because I did not choose to dine in. I said, I just wanted to take a bite and he proceeded to WATCH me as I bit into the chicken and wrap up my food. It was crazy. I wouldn’t recommend the chicken and broccoli as it was VERY salty and I think there was MSG used as I got a headache from the food soon after which only happens after eating too much MSG. I don’t recommend it here as nice as it is inside.
So were the wings good/bad/neither?

As I wrote to you directly as a private mesage, we held a staff meeting to ensure that we are better able to handle such situations. However, everyone denied having actually wrapped the food up as soon as you took a bite, as you claimed. Further, we take pride in preparing and providing clean and healthy food, which includes not using MSG. I would like to apologize to you in person, should you come to the restaurant again and give our fare another try.
