After a night out in Clarendon, stopped by Hard Times Cafe to grab a late-night bite to eat. I got the 5-way (spaghetti, chili, cheese, onions, and beans) Chili Mac. As always, this concoction is delicious. I tried it with the Terlingua chili which is a tribute to “the Texas ghost town that hosted the first chili cookoff.” It is a bit more red and spicier than their other chilis. I’ve also tried the Cincinnati, which is a bit sweeter, but just as good.
I went to the Clarendon location which just converted the offices above them into a sports bar. They tried to give it the same feel as the bottom floor, but the only thing that really matches is the color of the hard wood. The loft has a bar that is triple the size of the original, and has flat panel HDTVs surrounding the entire top floor. Might be a good place to go on Saturday or Sunday for football.
